Friday Night Lights Week 2 Playoff Preview

With games becoming few and far between it’s still several local and area River Region teams still in the hunt for High School football's top prize.

We get started with the undefeated Catholic Knights at 11-0 looking to keep their perfect season in tact as they host 8-4 Handley, also 11-0 Pike Road with their own opprotunity for a dream season welcomes 6-4 Mobile Christian, and St. James at 10-1 suffering their only loss of the season to aforementioned Pike Road earlier in the season looks to keep rolling as they travel south to take on 10-1 Flomaton.

In other notable games: 9-3 Goshen travels to 9-2 Leroy, Greenville at 7-4 welcomes in undefeated Bibb County who sits at 12-0, 7-5 Wetumpka is at home vs. 6-4 Spanish Fort, 8-3 Auburn is home vs. 11-0 McGill-Toolen, 8-4 Montgomery Academy is at home against 9-4 T.R. Miller, Opelika at 9-1 faces very tough 9-3 St. Paul’s Episcopal, and 11-1 Luverne takes on 9-2 Long.

As for our WVAS games of the week Powerhouse Central Phenix City at 10-1 clash with the 9-2 Prattville Lions, and tonight in the Bowl Crampton Bowl that is the 4-7 yes 4-7 Park Crossing Thunderbirds look to continue their Cinderella run as they take on the very good 9-2 Stanhope Elmore Mustangs.
