Firearms study

The results of a recent study finds firearms continue to be the leading cause of death among children and teens in Alabama.

The study, conducted by the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions, based its findings on data obtained from the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Researchers recommend states implement firearm licensing, background checks and required safety training as ways of reducing the deadly statistics.
