November 17,2008 – Alabama Senator Richard Shelby plans to fight a Democratic proposal to bail out U. S. automakers to the tune of 25 BILLION dollars. Shelby, who is the ranking Republican on the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, says such a bailout would only postpone the inevitable.

A new report from the National Association for business Economics shows the economy is worsening and will continue to decline for a while. Nearly every economist surveyed says a recession has begun.

Congressman-elect Bobby Bright of Montgomery joins fellow Congressman-elect Parker Griffith of Huntsville in a week long orientation in Washington. The freshman class of 2009 is getting logistics training and office assignments this week.
