On February 18th, multi-platinum, Grammy Award®-winning hip hop artist 2 Chainz will perform at the 2023 Honda Battle of the Bands (HBOB) showcase at Alabama State University. As one of ASU’s most famous alumni, 2 Chainz will take the stage during the HBOB halftime show, celebrating Black culture and musical excellence. Hosted by ASU alumnus and legendary comedian Rickey Smiley and award-winning host and comedian Loni Love, this year’s 2023 marching band line-up includes:

Virginia State University

For 18 years, Honda has supported the success and dreams of Historically Black College and University (HBCU) students through programs such as Honda Battle of the Bands. This program showcases high-energy performances and the talents of HBCU marching bands.
