By Ron Sparks gets congratulatory call from President
Montgomery, AL – - President Barrack Obama has called
Alabama Agriculture Commissioner Ron Sparks to congratulate him on
winning the Democratic nomination for governor.
The White House says Sparks was one of several new Democratic
nominees who received congratulatory phone calls from the president
Tuesday.
A spokesman for Sparks says he's unsure what was said.
Sparks won the Democratic primary over Artur Davis, who attended
Harvard law school with Obama and served as his Alabama campaign
chairman in 2008. Sparks supported Hillary Clinton in the 2008
Democratic presidential primary.
