Friday Night lights Week 8 Review

We start this edition of our season long series off with ever popular Westside Classic between the carver Wolverines and the Sidney Lanier Poets. This game that carries a yearlong worth of bragging rights did not disappoint as the Poets were able in the waning moments score a game tying touchdown and pick up the win on an extra point 14-13.

In our border war game of the week Bibb County beat down Chilton County 42-6.

As for our River Region games ACA outlasted LaFayette 14-7 at home, St. James improves to 6-1 as they took their frustrations after their first loss of the season on Beulah 42-14, Montgomery Academy edged out Southside 33-30, and Trinity blew out Dale County 41-13.

In other notable games Stanhope Elmore continues their winning ways as they shutout Selma 24-0, Zion Chapel over Central Hayneville 43-14, Highland Home knocked Luverne from the ranks of the undefeated handing them their 1st loss of the season by a score of 52-28, Marbury over Jemison 35-12, Prattville Christian stays winless as they lose to Bullock county 41-6, and on Saturday The Lee Generals dropped their 2nd straight game as they lose to powerhouse Central Phenix City 53-26.

And if you are a frequent listener to this series on Friday we gave you our potential “Body Bag” games of the week and we must be getting good because all were massacres. As predicted Reeltown ran crazy over Central Coosa County 58-0, Pike Road stayed undefeated as they zipped up Dadeville 42-0, and as for our regulars to this segment BTW Tuskegee was outclassed by Catholic 49-0, a call was put out to come clean up Verbena as Notasulga dragged them up and down the field for a score of 64-0, and Calhoun gets their weekly visit from the proverbial football corners as they were bludgeoned by Goshen 57-0.

Tune in this Friday as we bring you our Friday Night Lights Week 9 Preview.
