With less and less games on the slate each week we all know what that means…..it’s almost championship time. With major upsets last week some season long favorites have found themselves watching from the couch or running sprints in the gym for basketball practice.

For those who are left we get it started with 8-2 Autauga Academy visiting 9-3 Escambia County, defending 6A State Champion 9-2 Pinson Valley hosting undefeated 12-0 Muscle Shoals, the 10-2 Hoover Bucs play rival 10-1 Thompson, 10-2 Long is at 11-1 Reeltown, 9-4 T.R. Miller makes the short trip to face 11-1 Flomaton, and Powerhouse Central Phenix City at 11-1 is at 9-3 Auburn.

In other notable games: 10-2 clay-Chalkville takes on 11-1 Oxford, 10-1 Opelika is at 11-1 Hueytown, 10-3 Central of Clay County is home vs 11-2 Madison County, 11-1 Wellborn is at 11-1 Randolph, and 10-2 Ariton is at 10-2 Leroy.

In the battle of undefeateds 11-0 Lanett is at 13-0 Isabella and 12-0 Fyffe travels to 13-0 Red Bay.

In our WVAS games of the week the only River Region teams still left have some tough match-ups as 12-0 Catholic travels south on I-65 to face 11-0 UMS-Wright and Cinderella 5-7 Park Crossing takes on 7-4 Spanish Fort.
