Jamaica Hines

Production Technician/Announcer

Jamaica is a recent graduate from University of Alabama with a Bachelors in Telecommunications & Film concentrating on Media Production. Her experience with directing, technical directing and producing ranges from live television to concerts for acts including; Blind Boys of Alabama and The Commodores. She also loves to creative direct music videos and recently produce podcasts. Since a child, she’s always had a passion for the music and entertainment industry. Her recent transition from video production/photography to radio has helped her to gain even more experience in the media production world, which will be essential to her production company she plans to officially launch within the next year. Being a first generation college graduate, she loves to help students discover their passion and has helped supervise and built relationships with several interns as a mentor.

 

During her time as Production Technician, she has produced several podcasts for interns at Alabama State, helping them to hone their skills and discover new talents they have in radio, digital media & writing news articles. She plans to implement fresh productions for WVAS, resurrect Bama State Radio while expanding it to other forms of media and help as many students as she can while serving as Production Technician.
