Selma Officials Make Plans for "Bloody Sunday" Observance

Montgomery, Alabama – They have been invited, but it's not clear if they will attend. President Barack Obama's former Chicago pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and U.S. Attorney General nominee Eric Holder are among the guests invited to attend a Selma event in March commemorating the 44th anniversary of "Bloody Sunday."

The theme for the event this year is "The Bridge to the White House." Organizers say the "Bloody Sunday" attack on marchers at the Edmund Pettus Bridge 44 years ago served as a stepping stone for Mr. Obama's election as the nation's 44th president.
