Candidates Eying Attorney General Post Announce Interest
Montgomery, Alabama –
(AP) - A veteran district attorney and two
prominent lawyers say they are considering running as Democrats for
attorney general next year.
Tommy Chapman, who has been the district attorney for Conecuh
and Monroe counties for 19 years, Montgomery attorney James
Anderson and Birmingham attorney Giles Perkins are looking at the
primary in June 2010.
On the Republican side, Attorney General Troy King is already
being opposed by Birmingham attorney Luther Strange, who was the
GOP nominee for lieutenant governor in 2006.
