ASU Helps Develop Bio-fuel for MPS

Montgomery, Alabama – Alabama State University is partnering with Montgomery Public Schools in an effort to reduce fuel costs and help the environment.

Dr. Shree Singh with ASU's Biology Department says that ASU's scientists will aid in turning cooking oil from Montgomery Public School cafeterias into bio-diesel to run MPS buses.

Montgomery schools spokeswoman Mona Davis says the system spends more than $1 million on fuel each year, so being able to use bio-diesel would make a big difference.
